Description

The Medeci Secured Furniture Raisers have been created in conjunction with Medeci Rehab to bring a new method of furniture raising to the marketplace. The Medeci Furniture Raisers can be used for chairs, beds and tables with legs, as well as for armchairs and divan beds. This product is a pack of four raiser units. The units adjust in height simply by turning the body relative to the base. The range of height adjustment for furniture with castors is 100mm to 176mm (4" to 7"); while for furniture with legs that sit inside the cups, the effective height raise is between 50mm and 127mm (2" to 5"). There is a gauge marked on the side of the raiser for ease of use. The raisers secure to furniture with legs by rotating the top collar of the unit relative to the body, which tightens an internal strap around the leg. For fitment to furniture with castors one of two methods can be used, either by putting the universal castor adaptor around the castor and lowering it into the raiser, or by removing the castor from its socket and replacing it with the bobbin. Both accessories are included with each set of raisers. The raisers have a large enough base to ensure stability, though are unobtrusive when fitted. They are also incredibly strong and have a maximum weight rating of 500kg (78 stone) - note this is the maximum combined weight of the furniture and those sitting/lying on it.

Helpful advice

Products you buy are specifically for you and may not be suitable for other people in your home. For instance, a piece of equipment that you rely on, could be in someone else's way. If the other people in your home cannot use the same product as you, seek further advice. You may be able to obtain products that would suit you and your partner.

Help with fitting

We recommend that bed or chair raisers are fitted by an appropriate fitter. Bed and chair raisers fitted incorrectly can be dangerous. If you raise a sofa or chair, we suggest that you place them with the back against a wall as it may tip when used. Please always see the manufacturer’s instructions for advice on fitting and maintaining the equipment. WARNING: Chairs and beds should only be raised using products designed for that particular purpose and item of furniture. If you raise the chair and you use a footrest, you may need to change the height of your footstools.
