Support available for those with learning disabilities
A range of supports and services are available in Angus for people with a learning disability.
To find out more information, please contact the Inland Learning Disability Team on 01307 473132 or the Coastal learning Disabilities Team on 01241 438042.
There are 3 resource centres in Angus that can provide support for people with learning disabilities, all of which cater for those with profound and multiple needs and those on the autistic spectrum. You can apply yourself, or get someone like a friend, relative, carer or GP to make one on your behalf, but you must be over 16 years old.
You will be appointed a care manager who will carry out an assessment and arrange a place at the centre, if this is appropriate. They will also discuss how often you can attend as well as the costs involved.
You can find out more information about day care services by visiting www.angus.gov.uk/ and searching the A-Z.
