Local information - Leisure activities and leisure discount cards
There are a variety of exercise opportunities run by Angus Council's Leisure Services, which are all available in leisure centres, sports centres and local swimming pools across Angus.
There is a Routes to Leisure 'Pay as You Go' scheme or the bACTIVE membership (a monthly direct debit payment) covering all activities. You may be eligible for a concession membership, which could lower the cost.
bACTIVE is a live well programme of activities that has been developed by the Angus Activity Programme for people with a long-term condition.
The purpose of the group is to give information on a range of health sessions and focused exercise programmes aimed at older adults and/or those within a specialist group who manage a long-term condition e.g. those with heart disease, lung problems, etc.
These programmes may also benefit those who haven't exercised before, as well as those who have not been active for some time and just don't know where to start.
Whether it's controlling weight, stopping smoking, getting fitter or feeling better, the programmes support you to help yourself become healthier and more able to manage any long-term health condition. Individual needs, preferences and circumstances are also taken into account when developing your physical activity goals.
Your Health Practitioner should be able to provide you with written information about the benefits of physical activity and local opportunities to exercise.
