Local information on hiring a motorised scooter or wheelchair to go shopping

Dundee have a scheme called Shopmobility, which lends wheelchairs (electric and manual) and electric scooters to people with mobility problems to access Dundee city centre. The service is free for people with short or long term mobility difficulties. You will be required to complete a form, as well as undertake a short demonstration on how to use the equipment. You will be issued with a membership card, which you will need to produce whenever you need to use the service.

There are free disabled parking spaces alongside the Shopmobility Centre. Their opening hours are Monday to Friday, 9am to 4.15pm.

If you'd like to find out more about this service, please get in touch using the information below.

You may also be able to hire or purchase a wheelchair locally. We are aware of local mobility shops in Angus offering a hire option as well as options to purchase attendant and/ or self propelling wheelchairs.  If you have a long term need for a wheelchair, you should discuss this with your GP as they may be able to refer you to the NHS Wheelchair service.
