Using Therabands to exercise

Exercising using resistance bands is an excellent way of increasing your strength by providing a resistance for the muscles to work against.

Resistance bands come in different strengths, ranging from very light to very heavy resistance, and each one is a different colour. Every person is different, but we recommend starting with a band that is a light or medium resistance level.

You can purchase bands from most reputable online and high street sports shops and catalogue retailers.

As your muscles get stronger over time, you will need to progress to a more challenging band. If you would prefer not to purchase a band, you could try using a pair of tights, or you could do the following arm-strengthening exercise holding a tin of baked beans instead.
