Mobility and a sight impairment

If you have permanent and severe sight impairment that cannot be corrected by glasses and are having difficulty walking around safely and/or using public transport, then you may benefit from further advice or assessment.

Angus Council/ Angus Health and Social Care Partnership have an agreement with North East Sensory Services to provide a range of support for people with visual impairments, which includes advice on eye conditions as well as ways to get around both in the home and in the community.

The service also aims to identify any practical problems that you may be having, as well as providing support, guidance and training on travelling independently and on the use of mobility aids.

The service is open Monday to Friday 9am to 4pm. If you would like to discuss this service further please contact them by phone: 0345 271 2345 or 01224 625622, or text: 07593 102004.
