Walk and Turn - Figure of 8

This exercise helps with walking around the home, particularly in small spaces like the toilet or bathroom, and walking around furniture.

  • Begin by walking in a smallish circle in a clockwise direction.
  • Come back to the starting position, then walk in another circle in an anti-clockwise direction.
  • The whole movement should represent a figure of 8.
  • Walk with small, steady steps and try to maintain tall posture.

If you feel too unsteady to do this without holding on, walk around two chairs, so that you can steady yourself on them when needed.
