Advice if not being able to get out and about because of your caring role is impacting on your health and well-being
Your health can be affected if your caring role means you can't get out for essential tasks such as shopping, attending appointments, or looking after your own health needs. You can find information about the support available to unpaid carers at www.angus.gov.uk/social_care_and_health/care_and_carers/support_for_unpaid_carers
If the person you support has a care manager or case holder, speak to them about your needs. If not, Angus Carers Centre may be able to provide you with information about local befriending services or other support to help you get out and about and focus a little more on your own needs.
For more information visit www.anguscarers.org.uk, email enquiries@anguscarers.org.uk or call 01241 439157.
You can also register as a carer with your GP, which could give you more flexibility with doctors’ appointments. Speak to your GP Practice for more information.
