Loan Options
Angus Health and Social Care Partnership have a range of equipment solutions available for loan (free of charge) from Independent Living Angus. Small adaptations can also be arranged once owner/ landlord permissions have been obtained, usually free of charge. There is a weekly cost associated with the community alarm and tele-care service.
It is very important that the Angus Health and Social Care Partnership know that the equipment they loan is suitable for both you, other household members and your home.

In Angus, you can receive a Talking Disc or MP3 that outlines the local news. As long as you meet the basic criteria, the equipment to use this services is also provided on a free loan basis.

A bus pass, called a National Entitlement Card, is available if you are:
- blind
- deaf
- partially sighted
- without speech
You are also eligible if you have poor mobility, learning disabilities or have been refused a driving licence on medical grounds.

There are also private providers in Angus that may be able to assist you. Care About Angus is a large social enterprise who are registered with the care commission. They aim to personalise the input they provide to suit every individual. They offer support to people to attend local appointments. There is range of equipment that can help if you have problems with your hearing, including alternative styles of phones and accessories, which reduce the impact your sensory loss has on your daily life.
Angus Council/ Angus Health and Social Care Partnership have an agreement with North East Sensory Services (NESS) to provide a range of support for people with hearing loss. They are open Monday to Friday, 9am tp 4pm and can be contacted by using the details below.

First Contact provide free and impartial advice about a wide range of assistive equipment, including dressing aids. As Angus Council do not fund items under £50, you may need to purchase the items yourself, but you may be able to trial the equipment before buying to make sure it suits your needs.

The centre is open 9-5pm weekdays and you can visit during these time or phone to make an appointment to ensure someone is free to show you around.
