Loan Options
Angus Health and Social Care Partnership have a range of equipment solutions available for loan (free of charge) from Independent Living Angus. Small adaptations can also be arranged once owner/ landlord permissions have been obtained, usually free of charge. There is a weekly cost associated with the community alarm and tele-care service.
It is very important that the Angus Health and Social Care Partnership know that the equipment they loan is suitable for both you, other household members and your home.

There are a range of supports available for carers who provide unpaid and regular care for a relative or friend. You may be eligible for a carers assessment if:
- you regularly provide a lot of care to a relative or friend who is disabled, frail, ill, has a mental-health problem or a drug or alcohol problem
- you are planning to provide care in the future, for example, for someone who is about to leave hospital
- the needs of the person you are caring for have changed, either because they need more help or you feel that you are not able to manage
Angus Carers Centre can provide information, advice and a range of services to carers located in Angus. The services include:

- counselling
- newsletters
- a home sitting service
Angus Young Carers can also provide support to someone aged 18 or under who helps to look after or support a member of their family due to:
- physical or learning disability
- mental illness

We are also trying to raise awareness in relation to Purple Alert. Purple Alert is a free mobile phone app designed by people living with dementia and their carers with Alzheimer’s Scotland, Police Scotland, Social Work, Dementia Friends, Dementia Friends Scotland, Health and Social Care Partnerships and telecare services. The app allows carers to share the person living with dementia’s profile (with consent) if they lose their way and allows for eyes and ears on the ground immediately helping to find them. If you have a hearing aid, the NHS Tayside audiology clinic at Kingscross Health and Community Care Centre, Dundee can also provide you with advice on equipment items that can assist you. You may also be able to trial the items that are most suited to you and the hearing aids you have.

We also have a few items available for trial for up to 4 weeks which includes a Ownfone. This is a very simple, bespoke mobile phone that allows you to make calls. It is a credit card size item with a lanyard. It only allows you to make phone calls to people you choose (3 numbers can be programmed). if you decide to purchase your Ownfone you can add up to 12 numbers and add pictures to personalise people you might phone.

Scarf deliver energy advice programmes, such as Home Energy Scotland (funded by the Scottish Government and managed by the Energy Saving Trust). This programme provides free, impartial advice on energy efficiency, affordable warmth, all types of renewable energy, sustainable transport and water efficiency.

You should always check with the owner of your property or landlord prior to any works being completed to ensure you have their permission.
Fit for Work Scotland is a service for people who are in work. It provides free, confidential and impartial advice to help people return to, and stay in, work after a period of sickness absence.
There are two elements to the service:
- Advice - access to health and work advice for you, your employer and GP through a website and freephone helpline
- Assessment - if you reach four weeks sickness absence, or are expected to, you can be referred by your GP
You will receive a telephone assessment with a qualified health professional, who will identify all the obstacles preventing you returning to work. From this assessment, a return to work plan will be produced with recommendations to facilitate a safe and sustained return to work. This will include both health and non-health recommendations according to your work and life circumstances.
You are eligible for the assessment service if you've been off work for four weeks, or expected to be off work for four weeks and have a reasonable prospect of returning to work.
